Wristlet

A distaff is a tool used in spinning. It is designed to hold the unspun fibers, keeping them untangled and thus easing the spinning process. Fiber is wrapped around the distaff, and tied in place with a piece of ribbon or string.

As an added bonus, the design of the distaff also acts as a one or two-inch wrap gauge. Taking note of your wpi can keep your yarn more consistent as you spin, especially if you've put it down for a while.
